JOB SUMMARY

The financial analyst is a critical member of the Finance and Accounting team, contributing to Aptevo’s success by developing financial budgets, models, and ad-hoc analyses to support planning and decision making throughout the business. The ideal candidate is a pro-active, curious individual who takes the initiative to understand the company, goals, and internal processes.

Complete knowledge and full understanding of financial analysis approaches, tools and methods. Work on problems of diverse scope. Work is performed independently and is reviewed at critical points.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the primary finance contact, executing the annual budgeting and strategic planning processes, preparing, and presenting plans to executives and management
• Deliver routine and ad-hoc financial reporting, researching variances and advising management on business drivers, trends, and outlook
• Collaborate with department managers, analyze current and past financial data and performance, prepare and present financial forecasts
• Develop and maintain complex financial models used to drive business decisions. Distill information into clear and concise presentations
• Explore investment opportunities, presenting recommendations addressing risk and opportunity

• Interacts with internal and external auditors, providing data and explanations on processes flows
• Administer the treasury function including regular cash forecasting and reconciliation journal entries
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• BS/BA degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience
• Proven success executing a corporate-wide budget cycle
• Mastery developing financial models in MS Excel, presentations in PowerPoint
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with senior management
• Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities
• Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound decisions
• Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers
• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity, managing competing priorities and delivering results under tight deadlines
• Experience working with enterprise financial systems (SAP) and reporting platforms
• Biotech/Pharmaceutical/High-tech industry experience a plus
• Equivalent education, experience and skills may substitute for stated requirements

SALARY RANGE: $72,880 - 101,684
