Job Description:

Reporting to the President, APS, the Business Development Manager is responsible for providing a deep understanding of capital equipment requirements in the waterblast industry in the and identifying key sales opportunities for APS. Must be well connected in the Surface prep, waterblast communities.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed understanding of the waterblast industry related to capital equipment purchasing.
  • Must provide insight on key customer targets, primary competition, barriers to entry, technology drivers, purchasing behavior, organizational structure including, customer needs, regulatory drivers, and economic trends.
  • Drive sales of advanced systems across SHAPE with primary focus on APS and SHAPE systems.
  • Provide insight on vertical business opportunities and associated technical requirements and business targets to feed business justification and ultimately product development.
  • Monitor competing technologies and assist developing appropriate response strategies are formulated and implemented.
  • Deliver new insights, working closely with R&D, engineering, and sales and marketing to ensure new business opportunity targets are met.
  • Additional duties may be assigned, as required.

  • Ability to travel frequently, occasionally for extended periods of time.

Education/Experience and/or Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in an Engineering-related field, but Business Administration and other programs will also be considered) or alternative combinations of education and experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience with business development or sales / marketing in a related industry.
