Territory Sales Manager - US - Auburn Hills, MI

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

The Sales Manager has the responsibility to plan, direct and coordinate activities concerned with the sales, marketing and related financial management of advanced tooling, grinding and coating technologies within the automotive, aerospace and power generation industries.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Plan, direct, and monitor the activities of a sales team within a specified region to achieve established sales targets.
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of a regional sales force in order to implement the organization’s overall sales strategy for an assigned region.
  • Monitor the performance of the sales teams or branches within the region and re-allocate resources to improve overall results.
  • Contribute to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution strategies for the region.
  • Oversee sales support activities such as sales administration, customer service, distribution, invoicing, and credit and collections to ensure that customer orders are processed, dispatched, invoiced, and paid accurately and on time.
  • Coach sales representatives on the technical aspects of the organization’s products and services; on marketing campaigns and sales promotions; and on sales techniques, procedures, and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets

The Toolbox (Requirements)

  • BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field or equivalent of 5 years of outside sales or sales engineer experience .
  • 2 years of experience managing the sales functions at a business unit or regional level.
  • Results Oriented - Consistently hits goals and objectives set by self and others, pushes self and others to achieve stretch goals, acts to positively impact the bottom line.
  • Customer Focused - Understands and develops relationships with customers to profitably anticipate and satisfy their needs. Demonstrated ability to negotiate tough situations with both internal and external groups.
  • Continuous Improvement - Apply the judgment, responsibility, initiative, economic and critical thinking skills, and sense of urgency necessary to generate the greatest contribution.
  • Professional, value based, selling experience
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude
  • Industrial and/or manufacturing outside sales experience

This position’s anticipated annual salary range is $76,000— $114,000 with a sales incentive plan; at plan, this position’s bonus opportunity is 31%. Apex Tool Group’s competitive compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, life and short term and long-term coverage/insurance, 401(k) Savings Plan, educational assistance, 15 days paid vacation, and 11 paid holidays. #LI-REMOTE
