Overview:

We are looking for someone to join Another Round and grow with us over the years. The right person will not only be passionate about coffee, but also about our mission of growing a community through play and a shared love of all things well-crafted, whether it be an impeccably brewed beer, a beautifully roasted coffee, or an expertly designed board game.

Another Round’s Lead Barista will oversee the espresso bar’s operations including opening the shop, dialing in shots, assisting customers throughout the shift with retail purchases and game rentals, and of course making delicious drinks for our customers. This is not a supervisory position, but it will be expected to help new staff who may have varying degrees of coffee experience.

This will be a tipped position in addition to the base salary and will include additional benefits such as a healthcare stipend and paid parking.

Duties:

• Opening the location in the morning (includes ensuring cups are clean and ready to be used, any door mats that need to be laid out are, all equipment is up-and-running, and fridges are adequately stocked)
• Dialing in espresso. The recipe itself can be collaborative between the Lead Barista and management but it is imperative that the Lead Barista is able to diagnose the shots in the morning.
• Setting up the cold brew keg in the kegerator. Includes pressurizing it according to recipe specifications and starting a new batch of cold brew with the Toddy Cold Brew System if necessary.
• Setting up new cold brews and iced teas to steep
• Taking and executing orders from customers using the Square POS system which may include coffee, alcoholic beverages, drinks to-go, retail items, game rentals, or any combination of the aforementioned and being able to process that payment (cash, gift card, debit, credit through square)
• Putting out food items in the customer display window at the beginning of the day and restocking as necessary
• Taking orders while paying attention to specific details like dietary restrictions and being able to prepare any drink order that is on the menu according to Another Round’s recipe book.
• Clean mugs as stock runs low and/or during downtime.
• Keep the workstation clean of milk, coffee grounds, and any other residue of drink creation.
• Address customer complaints head on and communicate with management.
• Recommend to management what can changes and improvements can be made for efficiency and better customer experience.

Qualifications

• Previous professional barista experience is required.
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations
• Some work-schedule flexibility
• Great ability to communicate with customers when they are dissatisfied and with management when you are dissatisfied.
• Openness to learn new board games and help customers choose which games to play.
• A love of what you do and a willingness to work hard.
• As we open, we will work to create as steady and reliable a schedule as possible, but some flexibility will be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
