The Maintenance Technician is a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the efficient repair and maintenance of process and facility equipment. The maintenance mechanic is expected to be knowledgeable in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of machines and equipment and must be able to diagnose problems and determine the necessary repairs and preventative maintenance.

Job Duties

• Independently perform all types of mechanical repairs to process and facility equipment including troubleshooting of improperly functioning process equipment.
• Install new production equipment by both laying out and installing new or modifying existing tanks, plumbing, and exhaust systems. Perform basic electric repairs to process equipment and lighting.
• Performs both mechanical and basic electrical preventive maintenance inspections on all types of facility equipment.
• Develop a list of required materials to complete the assigned job, fill out purchase requisitions, and give to the supervisor for purchase.
• Perform PMs of high difficulty as instructed.
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance or manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred.
• Understanding of pumps, blowers, compressed air, steam, and cooling systems.
• Basic industrial electrical knowledge is preferred.
• Comfortable with computer basics.
• Capable of operating hand, power, and specialized tools.
• Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach clean and service machinery.
• Ability to crouch, kneel, walk, or stand for long periods.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
