Job Summary
The Facilities Manager is primarily responsible for daily operation of the physical plant, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, steam generation/sterilization and plumbing systems, grounds keeping, maintenance of common areas, biomedical equipment maintenance and repair, and general building maintenance. Understanding of codes, standards, guidelines and regulations related to health care facility design, construction and plant operations as defined by local, state, and federal entities, including NFPA, FGI, CMS is essential. Requires ability to work independently, critically think on a systems level, and coordinate and oversee project management.
Essential Job Functions
1. Primary responsibility for the operation and proper functioning of the physical plant and equipment. Includes but is not limited to:
2. Responsible for compliance with all Life Safety and Fire safety regulations, including the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 99 Health Care Facilities Code
3. Responsible for managing an electronic system of work order entry and tracking.
4. In coordination with senior leadership, develops short range and long-range capital budget for physical plant and campus.
5. Manages and oversees services contracted for inspections, repair, maintenance, or installation of all physical plant systems and infrastructure and biomedical equipment.
6. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulations for disposal of regulated medical and pharmaceutical waste.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelors degree preferred.
Certification, Licensure: Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) preferred
Experience, Training, Knowledge: Strong computer skills. Minimum 5 years hospital facility management experience. Leadership experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
This position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to (50) pounds in routine material handling, stocking and redistributions process. Arm, hand, wrist, finger coordination required in order to utilize tools and computer keyboard and mouse. Must be able to hear, speak and see in order to perform listed duties and tasks.

Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts within work areas.

ASH IMMUNIZATIONS AND VACCINATIONS REQUIREMENTS – Aligns with CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) for Healthcare Personnel
Hepatitis B- Lab evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals
Influenza- mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella - Lab evidence of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or 2 doses of MMR Vaccination
Varicella (chickenpox) - Lab evidence of immunity to Varicella or 2 doses of Varicella Vaccine
Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) - documented proof of immunization
Tuberculosis Screening- All new-hires undergo a two-step TB skin test
