Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Advocacy to oversee our victim advocacy programs and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advocacy, leadership and supervision, managing services for victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Duties:
- Lead advocate for the organization who sets the guidelines for excellence in advocacy;
- Oversee all direct victim services, including supervision of direct service staff and contract employees;
- Identify program development opportunities in accordance with agency’s mission, strategic plan, and best practices;
- Provide advocacy and services to clients, and act as backup support for staff advocates;
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Behavioral Health, or related field. Will consider equitable experience.
- Proven experience in program management, preferably in a social services setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective relationship management
- Knowledge of working with trauma victimization is essential
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and collaborate effectively
- Bilingual, specifically Spanish-speaking individuals, are strongly encouraged to apply.
