American Outsourced Waste & Recycling LLC is Hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist Near East Hartford, CT
Job Summary:
International Waste & Recycling broker are seeking an very experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for sorting & accurately processing high volume amount of invoices, sort & distribute to correct department. The ideal candidate will be a team player working with seasoned excellent group of people & have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Open large volume of mail, sort & process accounts payable invoices & ensure high level of accuracy and completeness.
- Review and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and distribute to correct dept.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any invoice or payment-related inquiries
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role
- Strong knowledge of account reconciliation principles
- Proficient in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) & all Microsoft based programs
- Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
