American Gem Society is Hiring a Membership Representative (Community Ambassador) Near Las Vegas, NV

The American Gem Society (AGS) is currently looking for a passionate and dynamic individual to join our team as a Community Ambassador in the Membership Department. You will play a crucial role in strong connections with our members, ensuring their satisfaction, and fostering a sense of community within the esteemed gem and jewelry industry.

The AGS is a nonprofit trade association that serves a passionate community of fine jewelry retailers, designers, wholesalers/manufacturers, and service providers dedicated to building consumer trust in the jewelry industry. The full-time, exempt Community Ambassador role involves member recruitment, retention, engagement, prospect identification, and relationship building to drive membership, advertising, event, and program sales. The ideal candidate is passionate about teamwork, detail-oriented, and eager to apply creative thinking and innovation to their role.

Responsibilities:

Member Recruitment:

  • Execute the member recruitment process, from prospect identification through active membership.
  • Develop and implement strategies for membership, advertising, events, and programs to meet revenue goals.
  • Serve as the primary contact for members, maintaining a pipeline of prospects and managing recruitment cycles from lead generation to closure.

Member Engagement and Support:

  • Provide exceptional support, guidance, and assistance to both new and existing AGS members.
  • Act as primary point of contact for members, keeping them informed about AGS updates, events, and opportunities, through various communication channels.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance member engagement and retention.

Operational Excellence:

  • Process membership applications and renewals accurately.
  • Identify at-risk members and develop personalized strategies to improve satisfaction and renewals.
  • Collect and analyze member data for continuous improvement.

Brand Representation:

  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing AGS at industry conferences, trade shows, and events.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements to provide valuable information to AGS members.

Reporting and Collaboration:

  • Make decisions on basic projects, and research policies/solutions.
  • Assist the Community Ambassador Manager and Director of Membership in preparing monthly and/or quarterly reports.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
  • Previous recent experience in membership management, customer service and/or sales.
  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of membership database programs is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of the gem and jewelry industry is desirable but not mandatory.
  • A genuine passion for providing outstanding service and cultivating a sense of community.

We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance as well as short-term and long-term disability and company-matched 401(k) contributions. Our regular work schedule is 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. We also offer a hybrid schedule. Some additional hours and weekend travel may be required with this position.
