alvis is Hiring an Assistant Program Director Near Columbus, OH

The purpose of this position is to supervise and coordinate activities of the facility. Employees in this position will demonstrate leadership skills to ensure programming and operational efficiency, safety and security, and compliance with corrections/community corrections best practices. Oversee the delivery of quality services in accordance with the mission and goals of the agency and corresponding with agency/governing body policies, procedures, and contracts.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in human services, social work, criminal justice, behavioral sciences, or other related field

Required Experience:

Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity and previous experience in case management and/or corrections.

Other Requirements:

Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license

Must pass a criminal background check

Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Must remain in compliance with all requirements of county, state or federal regulations, contracts, and all applicable licensing authorities

Must have skills in use of a personal computer and related equipment and software

Required to remain in compliance with training requirements

Must complete Management-in-Training (MIT) prior to completion of probationary period

Must serve as Manager-on-Call (MOC) as scheduled

  • Assist the program director with developing and utilizing full working knowledge of all supervised positions to oversee all facility programming and operations.
  • Assist the program director in the development and implementation of agency programming and operational goals and objectives to ensure enhanced services and efficient service delivery.
  • Assist the program director with oversight of the safety and security of the facility and coordinate with internal and external entities to ensure the facility and grounds are in good repair.
  • Assist the program director with directing, planning, and monitoring, quality assurance activities to ensure accountability and compliance with federal, state laws, agency standards, rules, and guidelines.
  • Provide requested program data to internal and external entities in the absence of the program director.
  • Assist the program director with minimizing financial and other risks with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
  • Ensure client engagement utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques (e.g., role playing, mirroring, reflecting) and behavior modification interventions.
  • Observe and/or facilitate client group sessions.
  • Assist the program director with implementing and enforcing agency/governing body policies, procedures, and contracts.
  • Coordinate and assist with outside entities and contracting bodies.
  • Ensure service integration by working closely and collaboratively with the program director.
  • Assist with facilitating treatment team meetings to include staffing of client cases and programming; behavior and discipline reviews; and pre-completion program reviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and staff information and files.
  • Ensure safety of clients and the community-at-large through reinforcing clients’ positive pro-social behavior(s) and holding clients accountable for negative behaviors.
  • Assist the program director with monitoring client movement and activities, investigate, document and report to supervising entities.
  • Act as liaison with community agencies and advocate for clients in order to foster and promote good community relationships in the absence of the program director.
  • Assist the program director in performing direct supervisory tasks (e.g., interview and select employees; recommend discipline; respond to staff disputes; train new employees; approve/deny leave requests; coordinate activities of assigned staff; scheduling).
  • Assist the program director with the employee performance management process, including employee coaching and development and annual performance evaluations.
  • Foster staff professional growth, development, and positive interpersonal skills through effective communication and professional behavior modeling; anticipate and respond to staffing needs.
  • Utilize effective problem-solving, prioritization, time management, and organizational strategies.
  • Demonstrate professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Resolve and de-escalate conflict in an open, effective and timely manner.
  • Administer emergency interventions, including CPR, First Aid, AED, and Narcan (Naloxone) as needed.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned (e.g., client transportation or other related facility logistics; direct delivery of client services, such as facilitating groups and/or managing a client case load and responding to client grievances; facility coverage tasks; participate in and facilitate in-service trainings).
