The Systems Analyst Journeyman will be the on-site liaison between Navy leadership/clients and the Information Technology department. The position is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business processes, user needs and developing Functional Requirement Documents for IT Developers to develop or modify computer programs. This position requires competence in all phases of systems analysis techniques, concepts, and methods and knowledge of available system software, computer equipment, IT and the regulations, structure, techniques, and management practices. The Systems Analyst Journeyman primary duty is to maintain and update the department computer network and all peripheral devices.

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

• Work independently and respond to IT issues; hardware maintenance, software, networking, etc.
• Manage and maintain network connectivity to all workstations, scanners and printers.
• Assist with the design, implementation, and support of new software and hardware for the program.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network connections.
• Implements and manage software and hardware updates.
• Responsible for daily application maintenance, including application monitoring, response to alarms and scheduling/creation/verification of system backups in accordance with Navy Program/IT policies.
• Provided internal customer support to include Windows performance monitoring and OS troubleshooting.
• Responsible for on-site operation support and assistive troubleshooting with support from a regional IT team.
• Perform daily and routine maintenance on Legacy systems, Desktops, Laptops and Notebook PCs and current PC systems, both standalone and networked.
• Perform ACAS scans, using Tenable, to mitigate vulnerabilities on various assets.
• Use SCAP and STIG viewer to analyze and mitigate findings/vulnerabilities on scanned devices.
• Maintain Rimage workstations in hardware, software and networking capabilities.
• Support United States Navy with intranet/internet access and various tools for daily productivity.
• Oversee troubleshooting for user system errors.
• Research requirement impacts to existing processes, policies, etc.
• Coordinate the integration of Legacy and new development computer systems.
• Evaluate comparisons of enterprise level Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) software systems and recommending solutions.
• Manage client and developer requirements within TFS system in bi-monthly Sprints.
• Perform complex software installations and upgrades, Windows and Linux.
• Maintain operating systems, virtual machines physical servers, printers, scanners, and storage solutions, including system monitoring, respond to alarms, install patches and other duties necessary to maintain the Navy IT infrastructure on a day-to-day basis.

• Security Clearance REQUIRED: Must already possess and be able to maintain, at minimum a SECRET Security Clearance.
• Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related scientific field or the equivalent.
• Experienced with Tenable scanning tools on RHEL7 platform.
• Advanced skills in Windows Group policies and Registry editor.
• Requires at least seven (7) years of general experience in integrating computer systems, developing enterprise level architectures or designing complex systems.
• Must be proficient in enterprise and dynamic environments, with creative problem-solving capabilities, and troubleshooting skills.
• Must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and Knowledge of MS Project and TFS.
• Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical teams on issues, tasks, and impacts.
• Proven ability to develop and foster highly effective interpersonal working relationships across IT and government clients.
• Experience with NATEC website and existing NAVAIR Tech Data business processes a plus.
• Prior Military experience in IT is a plus.
