We are currently looking for a Legal Operations Analyst to join our team in Richmond, VA, or we are open to remote work arrangements.
What you will be doing:
• Respond to and resolve numerous billing inquiries on a timely basis, by searching electronic Matter Management Systems, and paper files as necessary and preparing a response to the requestor.
• Update, retrieve and maintain data contained in the Law Department database and other company systems related to outside counsel management, budgets, invoicing, audit documentations and department initiatives.
• Perform functional business case analysis, process mapping, and implementing solutions, with limited management oversight.
• Compile, analyze and record financial information and proactively identify/communicate risks and opportunities, with management oversight.
• Review invoices for billing compliance with all applicable guidelines, including specific requirements for key tobacco and health counsel firms.
• Participate in functional projects to improve law department infrastructure and processes.
We want you to have:
• Bachelor’s degree, Paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience
• Proven understanding of finance and accounting principles or legal operations.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external legal personnel, regardless of title.
• Ability to adapt to change and use technology to balance priorities to meet department needs and function effectively under pressure.
• Knowledge of software/hardware vital to perform above accountabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Solid understanding of SAP
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to develop presentations and materials.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish strong trust-based relationships.
• Ability to provide customer service through clear communication, impactful influencing and empathy.
