Altos Labs is seeking a Senior Software Product Manager to spearhead the planning and development of our internal computing platform and services for machine learning and scientific computation. This role is integral to our Scalable Modeling & Compute team, coordinating the work of a team of experienced ML and infrastructure engineers to deliver compelling internal platforms and services. It will also involve close collaboration with computational scientists from a diverse range of disciplines, including molecular modeling, computational biology, discrete simulation, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a user-centered design process: Work closely with our computational scientists and engineers to understand their workflows and needs. Use this understanding to guide the design and development of our modeling and compute platform.
• Drive strategic direction: Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for our computational platform. Set clear goals and priorities, make smart trade offs, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
• Manage execution: Oversee the ongoing execution of our product development efforts using agile methods. Work closely with the technical lead and engineering team to ensure that our solutions are delivered on time and meet our users' needs.
• Deliver scalable, usable solutions: Ensure that the solutions we develop are not only technically sound but also easy to use, and scale effectively, balancing technical complexity with usability and performance.
• Communicate effectively: Convey a compelling vision to computational scientists, engineers, other product managers, and management, listen actively, and evolve the product based on feedback.

Accelerate scientific progress: Ultimately, your goal will be to accelerate progress towards our scientific mission. This will involve constantly looking for ways to improve our platform and services, and to enable our computational scientists to work more effectively and efficiently

• Master's degree or higher in computer science, machine learning, computational biology, or physics.
• 5 years hands-on experience as a software product manager in machine learning or scientific computation.
• Proven track record of delivering high quality products, managing the product lifecycle from inception to release and ongoing improvement.
• Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams, including research and engineering organizations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with large scale machine learning and/or scientific computation tools and infrastructure.

• Hands-on experience with developing AI, ML, or scientific models is a plus.
• Experience with early-stage biotechnology companies is a plus.

The salary range forRedwood City, CA:

• Senior Software Product Manager: $159,800 - $216,200

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
