Alpine Autism Center is Hiring a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/ ABA Therapist Near Colorado, CO

General Description

Implement the principles of applied behavior analysis across environments including the center-based, home, and community environments. Arrange and maintain an environment conducive to social interaction and functional language and communication. Collect data on student progress. Attend trainings and workshops. Work collaboratively with the Lead Teacher, Program Coordinator and Clinical Director.


Specific tasks include

  • Demonstrate proficiency of assigned individual client programming.
  • Implement student programs/curriculum in accordance with the direction of supervisors (classroom teachers, program coordinator, consultants) utilizing the principles of ABA.
  • Implement student behavior support plans in accordance with the direction of supervisors (classroom teachers, program coordinator, consultants) utilizing the principles of ABA.
  • Collect accurate daily data on client’s program targets and behavior.
  • Compile and summarize daily collected data on program graphs.
  • Input collected daily data into individual client computer files.
  • Objectively summarize individual client performance on daily go home notes (at least one note per session).
  • Attend and actively participate in entire in-service activities and trainings.
  • Consistently arrive on time and ready to work (in accordance with employee handbook).
  • Effectively use time in the best interests of the Center and our clients.
  • Adhere to all requirements for time and attendance tracking.
  • Exhibit professional behavior and demeanor during business hours.
  • Be receptive, acknowledge, and incorporate feedback and constructive criticism provided by supervisors and consultants.
  • Sustain continuous vocal interactions throughout sessions
  • Create weekly lesson activities as assigned.
  • Exhibit team participation by communicating pertinent information regarding the client to other therapists and supervisors before/after each session.
  • Participate in completing end of day therapist checklists for classroom cleanliness and order
  • Maintain clean and organized work stations.
  • Promote client independence by facilitating participation in classroom routines (clean-up after activities, lunch, take out trash, organize/put away materials).
  • Ensure correspondence to and from parents is communicated to supervisors daily.
  • Consistently engage clients in beginning play targets throughout sessions
  • Additional goals, duties and responsibilities will be added based on performance

education And Experience requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in special education, applied behavior analysis or related field, or experience working with children and adolescents, and their parents (preferred but not required).
  • Must possess or be able to obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification within 90 days of employment


Physical Requirements

  • Bending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward.
  • Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet
  • Moderate Carrying: Items weighing 15 to 44 pounds
  • Heavy Carrying: Items weighing 45 pounds and over
  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm
  • Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with fingers (including thumb) and palm
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on one or both knees
  • Moderate Lifting: Objects 15 44 pounds
  • Heavy Lifting: Objects 45 pounds and over
  • Reaching above shoulder: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for sustained periods of time
  • Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Standing: For sustained long periods of time
  • Walking: Moving about on foot, particularly for long distances.
