Overview:

The Server provides dining and table services to residents and guest in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Allegria’s standards. The Server is responsible for the proper dining set-up, providing meals, dining services and cleaning of the dining room.

Qualifications:

The Server must possess working papers, high school diploma or equivalent. Dining Services experience is preferred or an equivalent combination of experience and other qualifications may be considered. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Demonstrate good judgement, problem solving and decision[1]making skills. Must show a willingness to perform routing, repetitive tasks, as well as have good motor coordinator and manual dexterity for various work routines such as tray service, handling soiled dishes, and cleaning work areas. The Server must be able and willing to work flexible hours, such as during an emergency situation and must be patient and tolerant toward staff, resident, and family members.

Physical requirements:

The Server stands and walks intermittently throughout the working day, as well as reaches, stoops, bends, lifts, and carries. Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 20 pounds. The Server must have an ability to work with chemicals and cleaning agents. The employee must be free from infections or diseases.

Duties:

• Take menu orders and serve meals in a professional manner, demonstrating a genuine concern to please residents and guests.

• Inform residents what foods are available on the menu, if they are unable to read menu

• Follow safe food handling and sanitation practices

• Perform all side work and setup/breakdown duties as assigned

• Ensure that residents and guest receive high quality food in a timely fashion

• Maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate professional behavior, and practice good personal hygiene

• Tactfully and professionally handle resident concerns and complaints

• Follow all Allegria’s Dining Services Standards of service

• Attend in-service educational programs

• Carry out duties as assigned

• Follow defined safety codes while performing all duties

• Follow defined Infection Control procedures

• Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; follow established procedure during drills and actual emergencies.
