The Cook for Banyan Treatment Centers interacts directly with all Kitchen Staff as well as every employee that works for Banyan Treatment Centers and all clients that attend treatment.

Responsibilities:

1. Communicate in a professional manner with proper use of etiquette
2. Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities
3. Experience in using cutting tools, cook ware and bake-ware
4. Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods, grilling, baking, boiling
5. Setting up work stations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
6. Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat).
7. Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
8. Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
9. Excellent physical condition and stamina
10. Knowledge of cross contamination of foods
11. Knowledge of dish-washing procedures
12. Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
13. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
14. Capable of multiple tasks
15. Communication and leadership skills
16. Perform in a professional manner.
17. Knowledge of policies and procedures pertaining to attendance and punctuality.
18. Reports to work as assigned.
19. Understand and adhere to legal guidelines pertaining to client confidentiality and client rights.
20. Maintains acceptable overall attendance.
21. Perform duties independently, taking a proactive approach to problem situations, seeking supervision on an as needed basis.
22. Attends in-services and educational training as necessary and as assigned.
23. Seeks out learning experiences and incorporates new knowledge into practice.
24. Reports incidents, accidents, and occurrences in accordance with policies and procedures.
25. Maintains safety of the physical environment.
26. Performs all other tasks as assigned by supervisor
