SAILFISH POINT PROPERTY OWNERS AND COUNTRY CLUB ASSOCIATION, INC is Hiring a Line Cook Near Stuart, FL

Sailfish Point Country Club, located on Hutchinson Island in Stuart, FL, has an opening for a well-rounded Line Cook for its 41 year old member owned Club. The community has 522 homes with an average member age of 66 and generates $4 million annually in Food & Beverage revenue. Located a few feet from the Atlantic Ocean, Sailfish Point has a newly renovated 60,000 sf. Clubhouse, an 11,000 sf. fitness and tennis center, a full service spa, five restaurants and bars, 18 hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course and a full service 77 slip Marina with ocean access via the St. Lucie inlet. We are excited about adding to our culinary team.

Position Summary: This position prepares food for each meal service, as assigned. May be asked to function in Pantry, Broiler, Saute, Garde Manger, Fry, or Saucier position, depending on individual strength. Must be able to cook meat to temperature. Reports to Executive Sous Chef.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Prepares all meats, seafood, vegetables and other items required for line and special function purposes. Ala carte and banquet.
  • Follows standard recipes and techniques to assure standard quality of product.
  • Uses preparation equipment safely, according to manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Cleans workstation and equipment properly after use.
  • Returns unused food to proper storage areas.
  • Uses safe food handling procedures.
  • Assists with preparation of other food products on line as needed.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have at least two years line cook experience at a large restaurant, resort or other club.

Education/Training/Certificates/Licenses:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent needed.
  • Must possess Florida Food Handlers’ License or obtain within 60 days of hire.

This position is full-time. Must be able to work overtime and have a flexible schedule to be able to work either lunch or dinner service.

An American Culinary Federation Certification is preferred, but not required.
