Job Description

The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce seeks a skilled and experienced Director of Finance and Operations to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving the financial management and operational efficiency of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of financial expertise, strategic thinking, and operational acumen to ensure the organization's fiscal health and streamline its day-to-day operations.

Primary Responsibilities

· Maintain accurate financial records

· Oversee all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and taxation.

· Ensure the Chamber has sufficient cash on hand to cover operations, programs & events and banking obligations on a monthly basis

· Produce Membership Dues invoices monthly from our Membership Database and mail/email them out.

· Work with the Director of Membership to ensure timely Membership Dues collection

· Manage and monitor the budget process

· Oversee biweekly payroll and all related payroll tax filings

· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting principles, and internal policies

· Manage all other taxes, corporate filings, and auditing

· Oversee operational contracts and manage related administrative functions.

· Serve as Staff Liaison to the Chamber’s Finance Committee of volunteer leaders

· Oversee facilities management, including office space, equipment, and technology infrastructure.

· Provide support at the Chamber’s 50 events (registration, greet attendees, and clean up)

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

· Degree in Finance or Accounting

· 3-5 years of experience in similar role preferred

· Proficiency in Quickbooks

· Knowledge of MemberClicks membership software preferred

· Knowledge of Authorize.net/COCard a plus

· Competency with Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

· Verbal and written communication skills to create reports and present them to others

· Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, accounting principles, and best practices in financial management and operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
