Dawson Summer Camps is currently seeking experienced Lifeguards who will work with campers ages 5-15, under the supervision of an Aquatics Director and the Director of Summer Camps. Personal and Professional Qualifications:
Must be 16 years of age by the start of camp to be eligible to apply.
Must have a current Lifeguard Certification by a recognized source of training
Must be CPR Certified
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Knowledge of emergency medical procedures.
Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Job Duties:
Maintains constant surveillance of anyone in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service.
Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Expectations:
Summer Camp Dates: June 3 - July 26, 2024
Commitment: the ability to work a minimum of 2 weeks (not necessarily consecutive)
Work Hours: 8:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Camp day starts promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Must attend the mandatory staff meeting on May 31, 2024.
Must complete all summer camp student safety requirements and child protection licensing requirements.
The hourly salary for this position is $17.00 per hour. Summer Camp Lifeguards are temporary positions and not eligible for benefits.
