Summary:
The Human Resources (HR) Specialist helps with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The HR Specialist supports staff, organization-wide, by assisting with complex and specialized administrative tasks in the following functional areas: customer service, department administration, training and development, recruitment, benefits and compensation, and workplace relations.

Responsibilities:

  • All Interact with customers and employees via telephone, email, online chat, or in person to provide quality service;
  • E nsure appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer and employee problems and concerns;
  • A ssist in New Hire Orientation preparation and recordkeeping;
  • P repare, schedule, and process onboarding schedules;
  • M aintain and ensure compliance in preliminary and final background clearance;
  • M aintain employee badging system;
  • A ssist with employee relations;
  • A ssist with general benefit and payroll inquiries;
  • A ssist in audit preparations;
  • C ompile and update employee records (hard and electronic copies);
  • M aintain confidentiality of HR files and records;
  • A ssisting with the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR office.
  • A ssist recruiting with pre-employment requirements;
  • A ssure completeness of files and paperwork;
  • A ssist HR leadership with various research projects and/or special projects as required;
  • P rovide assistance to all HR functional areas as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • K nowledge or ability to quickly learn payroll management, HRIS systems, and computer applications.
    • S kill in operating office equipment.
    • S kill in oral and written communication. Skill in maintaining and updating office and administrator schedules.
    • K nowledge of human resources procedures.
    • S kill in managing multiple priorities and tasks concurrently to meet deadlines.
    MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
    O ne year of post-secondary vocational-technical or college education in office administration. Equivalent related training, education, or experience may be substitute for education.
    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
    N on-supervisory – Two (2) years of human resource experience or three (3) years of skilled office experience. Equivalent education, training, or similar experience may be substituted for relevant experience.
