Alabama State Department of Education is Hiring a Human Resource Coordinator Near Anniston, AL

Position Announcement

To ensure that the school system properly determines personnel needs, satisfies human resource needs, and maintains and improves all services related to the employees of Anniston City Schools.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides administrative leadership for personnel and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains on-boarding systems, training and orientation processes for new hires.
  • Assists District Administrators in determining employee work days and training days.
  • Attends Board meetings & work sessions, prepares and presents monthly reports and responds to personnel inquiries as needed.
  • Conducts staff meetings and trainings to promote efficient functioning of the Human Resource Department.
  • Maintains quality, integrity and confidentiality of all employee records and supporting files.
  • Collaborates with administrators and superintendent in evaluating personnel and documenting performance records.
  • Maintains vacant positions and solicits applications through advertisements on/with job boards, systems, and services.
  • Attends Board meetings/work sessions and prepares & presents reports as needed.
  • Screens resumes, sets up interviews, coordinates search committees and works closely with administrators in filling vacant positions.
  • Prepares and distributes notices of employment and displacement.
  • Assists with district’s annual personnel budget and submits required employee reports to State Board of Education.
  • Compiles documentation and submits workmen’s compensation and disability claims.
  • Collaborates with administrators and other employees on creation of district’s employee handbook.
  • Oversees school system’s substitute teacher program.
  • Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and/or opportunities and executing solutions for improvement in areas of responsibility.
  • Develops and implements practices for recruiting and retaining teachers and personnel.
  • Uses effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member, assisting as needed in projects, reports, or activities of the school system.
  • Demonstrates solid support for the school system, its purpose, direction, and priorities.
  • Performs additional duties as deemed necessary and/or delegated by the CSFO and/or Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, educational leadership or closely related field required (MS preferred); Minimum of 3 years’ experience in human resources (k-12 school administration preferred); Relevant certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM) preferred; Working knowledge of personnel matters and disciplinary procedures; Great public relations skills and superior leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal acumen; Ability to work independently, demonstrate flexibility, manage multiple projects and prioritize simultaneously; Proficiency in oral, written, and electronic communications with the ability to produce, lead, and deliver presentations to various stakeholders; Ability to identify and solve
problems as a productive team member; Advanced MS Suite skills and ability to use technology to plan, communicate, manage data, compile reports or submit personnel information; Physical strength, stamina, dexterity, and acuity to perform essential job functions and responsibilities; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.
