Akira Technologies, Inc. is Hiring a Senior Business Analyst and Technical Lead Near Rockville, MD

Akira Technologies is seeking a Senior Business Analyst and Technical Lead who will be a liaison between business stakeholders, regulatory partners, and technical development teams to ensure the delivery of IT solutions to meet business requirements. 

This position will drive the business requirements capture and support technical aspects of the data mapping activities. Ideal candidate will be responsible for translating requirements into functional and non-functional requirements that the IT development teams will use to deliver a high-quality solution. This position will also lead tasks related workflows and dashboards using Power Platform and SharePoint.

Position is remote with occasional onsite presence at the customer facility in Rockville, MD.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead business requirements initiatives with stakeholders.
  • Work with users and business subject matter experts to develop high-level data exchange use cases.
  • Elicit and document business process flows, functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitate conversations with IT teams and ensure collective understanding of requirements and assist with translation into technical requirements.
  • Produce documents, as needed, according to the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including business requirements, alternative analysis, requirements traceability matrices, and findings documents.
  • Plan and maintain project schedule.
  • Provide guidance to team members to ensure the delivery aligns with priorities and schedule.
  • Capture and maintain risk logs, key decision logs, and action item logs.
  • Draft, share, and discuss weekly status reports with stakeholders.
  • Provide input for monthly status reports.
  • Produce documentation related to tracking progress towards meeting requirements and associated risks and issues.
  • Participate in key User Acceptance Testing activities and review test results to ensure that requirements have been met.
  • Participate in technical design sessions and provide recommendations for industry best practices for data mapping activities.
  • Provide thought leadership and participate with projects that involve any of the upstream or downstream data flows and processes.
  • Plan and conduct meetings and create agenda, meeting materials, minutes, and action items.
  • Prepare and present project information and task details to project team members and business stakeholders.
  • Understand high-level requirements while not losing track of the detailed requirements.
  • Collaborate with integrated project teams to develop a standard technical solution.
  • Support Outreach related activities with the customer, regulatory partners, and IT development teams.
  • Develop Level of Effort and schedule for the business requirements activities.
  • Support user onboarding activities and assist the core help desk team in technical analysis.
  • Support Product Owner with release planning, scoping, and prioritization activities.
  • Support backlog grooming and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships across various project teams.
  • Follow established IT processes and communication protocols while maintaining a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Mentor junior team members with the assistance of PM/Architect.
  • Promptly escalate issues, which affect product delivery and quality that are beyond scope of influence.
  • Adhere to company and project standards and guidelines.
  • Identify, plan, and delegate tasks to team members.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4-year degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Regulatory experience (FDA, HHS, or other regulatory agencies) preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience in business/systems requirements development
  • Experience in utilizing and understanding BA methodologies and tools
  • Experience in utilizing various methodologies in SDLC, including waterfall and agile
  • Experience leading projects and teams for technical solution analysis and delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in technical design discussions and assessing Level of Effort
  • Demonstrated success in working within a matrix organization
  • Experience in MS Office Suite (including Visio), SharePoint, PowerApps, and JIRA
  • Ability to conduct effective interviews and interface with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success in providing quality EPLC work products
  • Sound industry trends awareness
  • Sound time management skills while taking ownership of tasks
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Easily adoptable to company culture
