Akina, Inc. is Hiring a Software Engineer - 3 (Java) Near Laurel, MD
Description: This position will be instrumental in the development of the new version of this mission critical application, which provides command and control of devices and assures site security. The legacy version contains XML and Java, and MongoDB. The new version will utilize java/JavaScript, and MERN stack. The developer will assist/mentor junior development team members as needed.Position Specific Requirements:This is a hands-on coding/programmer position. The SWE3 should be a strong front-end developer.1) Java and JavaScript development in a Linux environment2) MySQL and/or MongoDB database experience3) MERN (MySQL, Express, React and Node)4) Jira and ConfluenceDesired Skills:Front-end developmentContract LCAT Qualifications:Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree for a total of 24 years of experience. IN ADDITION, the Candidate must have at least 10 years in each of the following:1) Java Application Frameworks (Spring 3 or 4, Hibernate, or other current Java Application Frameworks) 2) Object Oriented Computer Languages (JavaSE or JavaEE , C , etc.) 3) REST Application Program Interfaces 4) Web development 5) Database Management Systems (MySQL, Oracle, PostgresSQL, etc.) 6) NoSQL Databases (Lucene, Solr, Mongo, etc.) 7) Lucene based applications (Splunk, Elasticsearch, Solr, etc.)8) Linux Development and Administration 9) EclipseAkina is a Woman Owned, Service Disabled, Veteran Owned, Small Business, looking for talented and ambitious individuals to join our team.
