Position Overview:

As a Field Service Technician, you will perform diversified assembly and service operations on a variety of large and small assemblies to specific tolerances. Will be proficient in Mechanical Assembly and able to work from various drawings under minimal supervision. Will assist experienced Service Technicians in technical service duties required for customers or prospective customers. Supports assembly floor when not performing field service duties. Will have surpassed the skills of a Service Tech Trainee.

Key Responsibilities:

• Will work together with experienced Service Techs and Assemblers to learn parts and sub-assembly drawings.
• Assists in sub-assembly operations of a mechanical, electrical, or welding nature.
• Assist in piping, tubing, fitting, tack welding, wiring, or shimming of major sub-assemblies.
• Assist in the tearing down, dismantling, tagging, protecting, boxing, skidding, etc. of machines, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and parts, as required.
• Travel to installations, rebuilds and service, as required.
• Safely operates all assembly/service equipment.
• Use precision measuring instruments as well as various hand tools.
• Read and interpret all required drawings and accepts verbal and written instructions.
• Performs major assembly operations, as required.
• Hooks up and handles materials, sub-assemblies, and assemblies in conjunction with lift trucks, jib and overhead cranes, and other handling devices in the process of assembly , tear down, and loading.
• Will be training with experienced Service Techs in installation, start-up, operation, customer acceptance, installation-operator-maintenance training, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, software components, and systems for all products.
• Able to hear commands, crane sounds, back-up alarms, and other warning devices.
• Exercises proper safety precautions and warning devises.
• Allocates work time according to the priority of job assignments.
• Communicate with all involved personnel to assure satisfactory results.
• Participates in the Employee Engagement Program.

• Works without posing a direct threat to the safety and health of himself/herself or others in the workplace.
• Satisfies company attendance standards.
• Performs duties using concentrated mental and visual concentration.
• Must be able to understand written and verbal instruction.

• Protects Company and customer proprietary or confidential information.
• Works additional hours as required by Customer needs.
• Completes trip, expense, and other reports as required.
• Performs other work and other miscellaneous duties, as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of either Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic or PLC experience OR technical training equivalent

Other Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License with excellent driving record
• Domestic and international travel from 40%-60% of work year, trips can be 2 to 4 weeks or longer, on short notice, by utilizing the most efficient modes of various commercial transportation - including air travel, as necessary.
• Holds a valid U.S. Passport and qualifies for foreign visas as required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in a forging or manufacturing environment
• Secondary school diploma and related trade or technical school certification is a plus.
