Description
Role: Food Runner
Responsibilities:
Food Delivery: Deliver food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to the appropriate table, ensuring that each dish is presented correctly and matches the corresponding order ticket.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with the kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely delivery and proper coordination of food service.
Table Setup: Assist in setting up tables by arranging utensils, napkins, and condiments, ensuring that each table is clean and properly equipped before guests arrive.
Food Presentation: Ensure that food items are visually appealing, properly garnished, and arranged attractively on plates before delivering them to guests.
Quality Control: Check each dish for accuracy, quality, and presentation before taking them to the respective tables, ensuring that any necessary adjustments or modifications are made promptly.
Assistance to Servers: Support servers by providing assistance with refilling drinks, clearing plates, and addressing any guest requests or inquiries promptly and courteously.
Table Maintenance: Continuously monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of tables, promptly removing empty dishes, used utensils, and other clutter to ensure a pleasant dining environment.
Knowledge of Menu: Develop a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dietary requests, to answer customer questions accurately and provide recommendations when necessary.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, addressing their needs and concerns, and ensuring their overall satisfaction throughout their dining experience.
Teamwork: Collaborate with the entire restaurant team to ensure efficient and smooth service operations, offering support and assistance to coworkers as needed.
Requirements:
Previous Experience: Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting, preferably as a food runner or server assistant, is desirable but not always required. On-the-job training may be provided.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry trays, and lift heavy objects such as food trays or crates.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate delivery of food orders, proper food presentation, and adherence to guest preferences.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication skills to interact with kitchen staff, servers, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the restaurant's operating hours.
Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, supporting coworkers and maintaining a positive work environment.
