Today, AIDS Outreach Center (AOC) began as a grassroots organization responding to the HIV epidemic. Since that time, AOC has been a leader in North Texas in the fight against HIV. Annually, 42 staff members provide services and education to over 2,000 people living with HIV and prevention services to over 3,500 people in our community.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Reporting to the Associate Executive Director, position oversees the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of services to persons with HIV and their families, including the care coordination, behavioral health, nutrition services, financial services and oral health programs. Provides direct client services on an emergency basis. Position supervises staff, student interns and program volunteers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct triage of case management, medical case management, patient navigator, outreach, housing, transportation, oral health, behavioral health, nutrition services and insurance assistance clients and provide direct services to clients during planned and unplanned absences of direct services staff.
Review client files to ensure compliance with the standards of care.
Participate in ongoing program evaluation and quality management activities.
Prepare annual department goals and objectives, and monitor progress monthly to identify trends and determine if changes are necessary.
Assist in coordination of training for program staff.
Provide monthly supervision of program managers.
Provide training and supervision for student interns and volunteers.
Prepare reports for internal use and to funding sources.
Perform administrative duties as necessary, including caseload assignments, scheduling, reports, case file reviews, department planning, etc.
Maintain professional certifications and pursue continuing education opportunities.
Provide community education presentations about HIV/AIDS and AOC services.
Monitor expenses relevant to budget and assist in financial evaluation of programs.
Develop new resources on behalf of AOC clients.
Provide written evaluations of staff to the supervising Associate Executive Director.
Participate in agency meetings, retreats, work sessions and events as requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned by Associate Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in social work or a related field, professional certification or licensure preferred; experience in direct delivery of health and human services experience; previous supervisory experience; excellent verbal and written communication skills; word processing and database skills; ability to think critically and analytically; strong working knowledge of available community resources; knowledge of HIV/AIDS; knowledge of grief and bereavement; knowledge of medical treatments for HIV/AIDS; knowledge of cultural/ethnic issues; knowledge of addiction process and behavior; adhere to Social Work Code of Ethics; knowledge of gay, lesbian and bi-sexual issues; ability to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner; ability to effectively handle crisis/emergency situations; demonstrate a non-judgmental attitude toward clients, staff and volunteers; ability to discuss sex/sexuality issues in an appropriate manner with clients; ability to adapt quickly to change; valid Texas driver's license and proven driving record.
