Job Summary
AGCO is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our North American Finance team in Duluth, GA, reporting to the Manager, General Accounting. The Staff Accountants primary responsibilities are to provide support for monthly accounting period closing, particularly in the area of inventory, ensuring accurate recording in the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP. The Staff Accountant will provide support to the Manager, General Accounting for various facets of the monthly close. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will be an impactful and essential member of the North America finance team, there will be close liaison with local functional teams, site operations management, and corporate finance teams.
Job Function and Responsibilities
Reconcile inventory sub-system to the General Ledger
Standard cost maintenance and setting of annual standard costs
Ensure accurate recording in the General Ledger in accordance with US GAAP
Provide analysis and responses to queries related to inventory and standard cost
Prepare reserve tests as assigned with analysis of reserve requirement fluctuations
Prepare account reconciliations as assigned
Provide assistance to both internal and external auditors during reviews and Sarbanes Oxley testing
Identify efficiency improvements within area of responsibility
Provide meaningful analysis and support for ad hoc requests, projects and other duties assigned by Management.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance is required
Qualifications and Experience
1-3 years of work experience in accounting, preferably with a Fortune 500 organization
Fixed asset and lease accounting experience preferred
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Working knowledge of HFM and JDE/SAP preferred
Proven ability to identify and implement process improvements
High-level of interpersonal and communication skills
Strong work ethic and analytical skills

Minimal travel required
