We're looking for an experienced Technical Writing lead to own technical documentation at Affirm, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to the more junior members of the team. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and designers to gather technical information and ensure accurate documentation.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and templates.
Plan and prioritize documentation projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.
Review and edit documentation for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Conduct regular training sessions to improve writing skills and familiarize team members with new tools and technologies.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in technical writing.
What We Look For
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience (5 years) as a technical writer, with a track record of producing high-quality documentation for software products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Proficiency with documentation tools such as Markdown, Readme.io, or similar
Familiarity with API documentation and developer tools, particularly in SaaS or cloud computing.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing error-free documentation.
Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
Certification in Technical Writing or Project Management.
Experience with content management systems (CMS) like Confluence or SharePoint.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience with project and issue tracking software such as Jira

Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year:
Min: $138,800Mid: $173,500Max: $208,200USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year:
Min: $124,900Mid: $156,100Max: $187,300Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
