SUMMARY: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the oversight of installation, repair, and upkeep operational equipment of the refinery facilities. Develop maintenance goals, monitor maintenance reliability goals, inspections and make corrections if needed. Oversight of the maintenance staff work schedules, ensure proper documentation and development of SOPs and maintenance check sheets. Assists and work closely with other members of management within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Establish and enforce safety procedures for safe operation of equipment and handling of chemicals
· Overseeing day to day plant maintenance, identifying problem, and developing, implementing corrective and preventative measures.
· Ensure personnel follows the safe LOTO, permitting and repair operations, return to service procedures.
· Follow maintenance schedule and troubleshoot any repair issues, offer potential solutions and daily reports to management.
· Ensure monitoring and prescribed checks of all operating equipment are carried out as required for proper operation.
· Maintain proper inspection records, logs of Mechanical integrity program and activities, review and approve invoices, and prepare, update, and work and on call schedules.
· Provide leadership in professionalism and ethics.
· Interface with customer, suppliers, vendors, regional maintenance support, staff support.
· Understand, support, and help implement/maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), ASTM standards, Operating Policy, and API compliance
· Understand, support, and help implement OSHA guidelines and PSM objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities.
· Ensure compliance with all governing agency regulations and requirements, assist, and ensure payroll is completed, schedule the activities of the maintenance personnel, and coordinate contractor activities
· Plan, review, and schedule project work with the plant manager; and administer the MOC process and support the maintenance operation of the plant.
· Supervises employees under the direction of the Plant Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
· Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, directing work, and resolving problems.
REQUIREMENTS: A successful candidate must possess the ability to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory level. · Mechanical engineering degree preferred; or 5-8 years oil refining managerial experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret in the English language correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Supervisors,
regulators, consultants, and the general public.
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Must be able to make decisions on routine matters of policies.
· Ability to plan, schedule and execute a mechanical maintenance window
· Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
· Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables in handling situations
· Ability to apply mathematical formulas to practical situations.
· Must work primarily in an advisory capacity. Have the authority to remove employees from an eminent danger condition. Have informal contact daily with supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to move from place to place to all areas of production. Must be able to climb ladders or platforms and enter confined spaces. Must be able to wear all required safety equipment. Must be able to occasionally withstand hot or cold temperatures when working outdoors.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment varies from a office, plant production and outside climate conditions, based on the situation. The noise level varies depending on which area of production the employee is working in.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Days/M-F. The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasional changes in schedule may be required as special circumstances arise.
