Aeroflow Healthcare – Human Resources Generalist

The Opportunity

Within Aeroflow, the Human Resources Operations team is responsible for managing many aspects of employee relations for over 700 employees. Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, the HR Generalist will be responsible for a variety of HR and administrative functions with an overall goal of supporting Aeroflow’s Mission and delivering world-class service to our coworkers and customers. In addition to supporting the HR Operations Team, the HR Generalist supports aspects of the entire cross-functional HR team; including support of efforts in recruiting, onboarding, training, development, and employee experience and engagement.

Your Primary Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a talented Human Resources Generalist. The HR Generalist will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters, fostering a positive work environment and addressing employee concerns or conflicts promptly and effectively.
  • Provide guidance and consultation to managers on performance management, including coaching, counseling, and conducting investigations into performance-related issues.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop appropriate corrective action plans and support the disciplinary process when necessary.
  • Completes and documents I-9 verifications as outlined in the federal eVerify
  • Oversee the termination process, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
  • Conducting exit interviews, and coordinating necessary documentation.
  • Manage unemployment claims with external third party.
  • Manage third party vendor that administers leave programs, providing support to employees and managers throughout the process.
  • Lead the reasonable accommodation process for employees covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including evaluating accommodation requests, engaging in the interactive process, and coordinating with managers and employees to implement appropriate accommodations.
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve HR processes and strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest HR trends, laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and make recommendations for policy updates or changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement, performance management, and talent development programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Responds to staff inquiries regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Conducts ongoing audits of UKG, employee files, and benefits systems to ensure accurate records at all times.
  • Updates UKG landing page each month with employee birthdays, anniversaries, and company announcements.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Asheville.
  • Maintain HIPAA/patient confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) are preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on employee relations, performance management, leave administration, and ADA reasonable accommodations.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing complex employee relations issues with a track record of successful resolutions.
  • Strong understanding of performance management best practices and the ability to guide managers through the process effectively.
  • Experience handling terminations, including conducting exit interviews and managing the necessary documentation.
  • Familiarity with leave administration, including FMLA, ADA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish trust and credibility with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze data to inform HR strategies and decisions.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
