General Description:This position’s purpose is to support The United States Coast Guard’s 671 Enterprise Architecture Division to develop and maintain the Coast Guard’s enterprise architecture. The architect would be responsible for developing and documenting the strategic, capability, business, and data architecture models to include reference architectures and models in the Coast Guard architecture and repository tools.
This mid-level position is a part of a contract support team for the Coast Guard (CG) Enterprise Architecture program. The candidate will be directly responsible for entering architecture elements (e.g., capabilities, application components, etc.) into the CG architecture repository. The candidate will receive and enact guidance from contract team senior architects. The architect will focus capture strategic, capability, and business layers of abstraction while working with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence (C5I) Service Center (C5ISC) to ensure the establishment of Line of Sight (LoS) of solution architectures to strategic, capability and business layers of architecture.
Minimum Qualifications: :5 years of demonstrated enterprise architecture experience developing and analyzing architecture models. Experience using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF), and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) are desired. BS in system engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, or a related field; or equivalent education and work experience.
Experience/Skills:Strong team and collaboration skills- Ability to work as a team and take direction from senior architects. Demonstrate ability to deliver under tight timelines. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of:
- Enterprise Architecture standards, artifacts, and guidelines (Industry and US Government and ISO)
- Collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to understand and translate business challenges into architecture artifacts
- Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate, or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business
- Federated and Integrated Architecture Descriptions
- The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and high-priority issues
- Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
- Architecture Description Languages (ADL) including SysML and BPMN
- Strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities
- Experience with cloud architecture, microservices, and big data preferred.
Job Description: :- Maintain current architecture products and data in the CG-specific architecture tools (Alfabet and System Architect)
- Capture the strategic enterprise goals and provide traceability through the organization, including mapping to metrics that provide ongoing governance
- Define the data shared across the USCG enterprise and the relationships between those data
- Capture the relationships among roles, capabilities, and operational units
- Establish and maintain solution architecture baselines for the C5I enterprise and maintain traceability to USCG Missions
- Support Enterprise Architecture Board with situational awareness of project impacts on USCG capabilities and strategic outcomes
- Receive and enact guidance received from contract team senior architects
- Perform as a part of an integrated architecture team working remotely with occasional onsite meetings
- Document and develop descriptive architecture representations of strategic, capability, and business architectures, including traceability of data, application, and infrastructure components
- Perform enterprise analysis and evaluations on enterprise architectures
- Conduct architecture assessments
- Develop, document, and maintain reference architectures from USCG doctrine and policy
Federated Enterprise Architecture Certification (FEAC) preferred

Location: Remote with occasional onsite meetings (DC and Portsmouth, VA).
