The Role:

The Corporate Accounting Manager is a highly visible position within AMD's (the Company's) Corporate Accounting team that is responsible for managing the Company's accounting operations and the worldwide monthly and quarter end close reporting activities. This position is based in Santa Clara, California and will report directly to the Director of Corporate Accounting.

The Person:

We are looking for candidates with a mix of public accounting and industry experience and a CPA certification. In addition, we are looking for candidates who are willing to challenge the status quo and who are excellent communicators, critical problem solvers and decision-makers. Ideal candidates must be detail oriented, highly efficient in project management, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Another meaningful factor will include the ability to identify and drive the improvement of process and technology to enhance the quality, speed, and scalability of the company's monthly and quarterly close processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Key member of the monthly and quarterly worldwide accounting close in accordance with US GAAP and global accounting policies
• Manage close activities such as journal entries, reconciliations and the monthly and quarterly financial close meetings with other cross-functional teams
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly consolidated financial results and analytical review procedures on significant changes to senior management and business partners
• Maintain chart of accounts and other accounting system information
• Responsible for SOX compliance activities within areas of responsibility, including executing on controls, updating SOX documentation, and supporting testing efforts
• Act as the liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews and the annual audit ensuring timely completion of audit requests
• Identify and implement improvements in execution to reduce time to close and improve accuracy of underlying accounting records
• Lead accounting automation projects including the design, implementation and maintenance of scalable finance and reporting systems
• Set guidelines for the work performed by the shared service center supporting the monthly and quarterly consolidation and financial reporting process
• Assist executive leadership teams with special projects, research and supplemental reporting

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master's degree in Finance/Accounting a plus
• Experience in Auditing/Accounting/Finance
• CPA/CA or equivalent required
• Big 4 or national public accounting experience preferred
• Public company experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• SAP experience a plus
