Job Summary: The Staffing Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring adequate and qualified staffing levels to meet the healthcare needs of our residents. This position involves coordinating the scheduling and placement of nursing staff, maintaining accurate records, and facilitating communication between various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Scheduling and Staff Allocation:

    • Develop and maintain the nursing staff schedule, taking into consideration factors such as resident needs, staff availability, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with department heads to determine optimal staffing levels based on resident acuity and facility needs.
  2. Communication:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for staff scheduling inquiries, requests, and changes.
    • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, department heads, and administrators to ensure a seamless flow of information regarding scheduling and staffing needs.
  3. Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of staff schedules, time-off requests, and attendance.
    • Generate and distribute reports related to staffing levels, overtime, and attendance as needed.
  4. Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to staffing, including state and federal requirements.
    • Stay informed about changes in staffing regulations and adjust scheduling practices accordingly.
  5. Problem Solving:

    • Proactively identify and address staffing challenges, such as unexpected absences or shortages, to maintain optimal resident care.
    • Collaborate with HR to address staffing-related issues and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in healthcare staffing or scheduling preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance.
  • Proficient in the use of scheduling software and Microsoft Office applications.

Education:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
