Advance EMS is Hiring a Dispatch/Operations Supervisor Near Houston, TX

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists with planning, organizing and coordinating the delivery of emergency medical services , including but not limited to MICU, ALS & BLS emergency and non-emergency ambulance transports.
  • Assists with fleet maintenance.
  • Coordinates with all field and dispatch personnel to ensure appropriate delivery of EMS services and ETA compliance. Acquires and maintains working knowledge of County, State, and Federal laws, regulations and medical protocols dealing with the delivery of pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical services.
  • Monitors the dispatch grid, ensuring that all Dispatchers are planning transports and unit assignments in the most efficient and beneficial manner.
  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance reviews; Organizes workflow and prepares schedules; reviews payroll; approves time off requests; assists with departmental training and quality assurance efforts.
  • Anticipates and alleviates potential problems with scheduled trips by maintaining a comprehensive view of the day’s transports and call volume.
  • Understands and follows all Company rules, policies, and protocols.
  • Intercepts customer complaints and escalates them to appropriate supervisors when necessary.
  • Functions as the first point of contact for dispatchers and field personnel, to resolve any unusual circumstances that arise.
  • Provides a strategic outlook for future days by proactively checking for prescheduled transports and evaluating against scheduled units.
  • Ensures that all department shifts are covered each week, including finding replacements for absent employees and, when necessary, working the shift if no suitable replacement can be found.
  • Monitor and document response times of units.
  • Utilizes and maintains professional communications skills with all employees and customers including patients, facilities, and public service agencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have a minimum of three years experience in EMS Management
  • Must have a Current TDSHS EMT-B License
  • Effective oral/written communications skills and interpersonal skills.
