Addison Group Los Angeles seeks a Senior Accountant to join a non-profit organization for a San Fernando Valley organization on a direct hire basis.
Job - For this non-profit organization, you will perform day-to-day General Ledger (G/L) accounting tasks, run the month-end closing process, and oversee cash management. The hired Senior Accountant will report to the Controller.
Job Site Status - Our client envisions this role to have an onsite status.

Compensation – Salary range is $80,000-$90,000/year.
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT DUTIES
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
· Input journal entries into the General Ledger (G/L) system
· Close the books on a month-end, quarter-end, and year-end basis
· Handle all inventory, purchasing issues, production, sales, expenses, and liabilities
· Reconcile all accounts
Accounting Operations
· Oversee the entire cash management process (all Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) duties for all entities) in conjunction with the Accounts Payable Department
· Monitor Aged Trial Balance
· Generate Financial Statements
Fixed Assets Accounting
· Classify and account for fixed assets (buildings, trucks, cars, and other tangible assets held by the company for the production or supply of goods and services, for rentals, or for administration purposes) to determine depreciation, economic benefits, and cost/value of each asset
· Maintain all fixed asset schedules
· Record all asset purchases (Initial Recordation), which includes buildings, furniture, fixtures, land, machinery, office equipment, and vehicles
Grant Accounting
· Assist in preparing monthly or quarterly grant administration duties, such as preparing and analyzing monthly invoices, cost and projection reports, financial statements, and other schedules for submission to funders/grantors
Miscellaneous
· Assist the Controller in budget preparation
· Assist the Controller in implementing improvements in the accounting and finance processes
· Prepare Sales and Use Tax returns
· Accept any other projects as assigned by the CFO
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus or an equivalent level of work experience
· At least four (4) years of General Ledger accounting experience (month-end closes, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting)
Preferred
· Grant accounting experience
· Fixed assets accounting experience
· Prior employment at a non-profit institution OR audited non-profit clients if you worked at a public accounting firm
