Overview
Reporting directly to the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Specialist interacts with customers, consumers, and internal partners including the sales team to provide and process information about products, purchase orders, and/or tracking information.
Essential Duties
- Receive and enter in purchase orders into Sales Pad.
- Answer and direct phone calls in a friendly manner.
- Provide customers with expedient and accurate information relative to sales orders, product information and shipping information.
- Provide the sales divisions with complete and accurate information, including open orders, back orders, inventory updates, and customer account notes.
- Update customer data in Great Plains/SalesPad such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, territories, and shipping comments.
- Upload pricing into GP/Sales Pad as new pricelists are received from the sales team.
- Handle and resolve customer questions or complaints.
- Communicate any important information with internal departments.
- Play an active part in helping the organization function smoothly and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Promotes buying programs with customers that will result in increased sales (ex: increase quantity for free shipping)
- Familiarize yourself with our products through training online and in person with the sales or technical service teams.

Required Knowledge and Abilities
- Education: Highschool diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Desire to pursue a career in sales
- Ability to read, write and speak English. Professional written and verbal skills are necessary to communicate with other people or departments.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking while maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor throughout the day.
- Ability to accurately and efficiently input and retrieve data from a computer into different Microsoft programs.
- Not necessary but a plus to have working knowledge of this industries products and solutions.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, kneel, talk, and hear. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move 10-20 pounds.
