Acuity Eye Group is Hiring a Human Resources Assistant - Temporary Near Santa Ana, CA

Description

SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for assisting the Chief People Officer with ensuring the efficient delivery of HR services by providing administrative and project support. This HR professional will assist with executing on identified deliverables with ongoing work and projects that align with Acuity’s strategic human capital goals and core business objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist the planning and implementation of assigned HR projects in partnership with the CPO, ensuring follow through and execution of deliverables.
  • Assists Chief People Officer with company communications.
  • Prepares and generates regularly scheduled HR reports to business leaders.
  • Partner with leadership to hold team members accountable for successful completion of projects.
  • Communicates with employees and managers to resolve questions or concerns. Escalates to CPO as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling HR and company meetings.
  • Provides general administrative support, including organizing work; triaging and relaying messages; and preparing presentation materials.
  • Supports the successful administration of new employee orientation and other company meetings.
  • Works on cross functional teams on identified HR initiatives and develops and maintains good working relationships with employees and managers.
  • Evaluates and recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and services performed.
  • Track project progress of deliverables and milestones to ensure project stays on track.
  • Assist with consistent metric tracking for the HR team.
  • Provides general human resources support, including reviewing/processing requests, scanning/organizing information, and triaging/resolving routine questions.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operational procedures, checklists, and process flows.
  • Administers and manages rewards and recognition programs.
  • Maintains strict employee privacy and confidentiality when dealing with employee information.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations; stays current with HR regulations.
  • May assist in other areas of Human Resources as needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent, plus 1-3 years of office support experience. Minimum of one year prior experience in HR.

DESIRABLE: Associates or Bachelor’s Degree.

CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:

PHR or SPHR a plus.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/TALENTS:

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, while interacting with employees at all levels.
  • Address others professionally and respectfully by actions, words and deeds.

  • Computer proficiency in a Microsoft Office environment.
  • Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem solver, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast paced and sometimes ambiguous environment, without compromising quality of work.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction, while understanding and contributing to the success of the Company.
  • Ability to draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment in making decisions, and to make decisions under pressure.
  • Displays independent judgment by willingness to make timely and accurate decisions based on available information that is sometimes vague or limited in nature.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • This is primarily an office classification. Temperature conditions are controlled with limited direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, see, talk and hear. The employee will frequently lift and/or carry reports, records and other materials that typically weigh less than 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch.
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard, calculator, and other standard office equipment.
