The Director of Labor Relations is responsible for servingas the lead on all labor relation matters, including coordinating therelationship between Acero Schools and its employees, implementing andadministering the collective bargaining agreement with the Charter Division ofthe Chicago Teachers Union (“Union”), conducting investigations as well as dischargeand disciplinary reviews, and supporting the daily functions of the LegalDepartment as directed by the General Counsel/Chief Administrative Officer.

EXPECTATIONS
oAdvise senior management and campus leadership on collectivebargaining negotiations, contract implementation, contract interpretation andcontract administration.
oServe as member of collective bargaining team in negotiations withUnion.
oManage Acero Schools’ relationship with Union officers and fieldrepresentatives.
oCoordinate management responses to Union grievances relating tothe administration of collective bargaining agreements.
oCoordinate representation of Acero Schools in arbitration mattersarising as a result of grievance procedures under collective bargainingagreements.
oConduct discharge and disciplinary reviews for Union and non-Unionstaff in alignment with Acero Schools’ approach to performance management.
oAdvise network management and campus leadership on policiesconcerning wage, hours, and working conditions to ensure compliance with laborand employment law as well as collective bargaining agreements.
oPromote active relationship management as a tool for disputeresolution and third-party avoidance.
oProvide ongoing training to network administration and campusleadership as a means of proactive employee and labor relationship management.
·Support the Legal Department:
oAssist in management oflegal department operations by developing, implementing, and monitoringmetrics/client satisfaction measures.
oServe as the designatedFOIA Officer for Acero Schools.
oExecute special orstrategic projects or initiatives as delegated by the General Counsel/ChiefAdministrative Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS
?Education: JurisDoctor (preferred)
?Licenseto practice law in Illinois (preferred)
?Knowledgeof labor relations and labor and employment laws, as applied to the educationalfield
?Knowledgeof union contract administration and negotiation
?Experiencein employee discipline and performance management
?Strongnegotiation and communication skills
?Criticalthinking skills
?Workingknowledge of National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) complaint procedures
?Workingknowledge of arbitration procedures
?Possessability to establish performance metrics
?Experiencein providing training
?Experiencewith Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
?Abilityto travel for business as required
?Must be authorized to work in the United States (required)
Majority of work is performed in ageneral office environment. Position requires availability for extended hoursplus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. Also requiresparticipation and attendance at organization-sponsored events and meetings.
