Summary:
The Automation Maintenance Technician ensures optimal automation equipment performance to meet production targets and enhance process efficiency. This role involves proactive troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and the efficient management of equipment to minimize downtime. Tasks are conducted in a fast-paced light manufacturing environment, including equipment overhaul and installation.
Responsibilities:
· Perform routine machine maintenance (cleaning, checks, and preparation) to support operations.
· Operate various tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and power tools.
· Execute preventative maintenance and equipment modifications.
· Conduct equipment capability studies.
· Collaborate with other departments.
· Maintain equipment logs.
· Ensure departmental compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Undertake special projects as needed.
· Exhibit strong communication, commitment, and teamwork.
Requirements:
· Proficient in reading and understanding procedures.
· Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Oracle).
· Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills.
· Disciplined, logical thinker, problem-solver, and team player.
· Self-motivated and able to work independently.
· Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with various hand and power tools.
· Knowledge of equipment such as hand tools, lathes, grinders, drills, and power tools.
· Familiarity with electronics, including PLCs, photo sensors, I/O readouts, and data gathering.
Educational Requirements:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of five years' experience as an Automated Assembly Equipment Technician.
· Two to three years of experience in electronics, mechanics, science, and physics.
