ACCS is Hiring a Director of Human Resources Near Jasper, IN

JOB
The Director of Human Resources will report to the Vice President of Administration and Operations. The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for retaining personnel files, keeping abreast of all personnel policies, coordinating the annual revision to the Personnel Handbook, and overseeing the hiring process.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Ensure the security of college employee files.Keep abreast of all Federal, State and local personnel policies and procedures.Maintain completeness of all personnel files to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC), the Alabama State Department of Education, and the State Examiners of Public Accounts. Input personnel data in Banner mainframe computer as well as into the Alabama Community College System for validation and consolidation of information. Monitor and determine, in conjunction with the Director of Finance, employee eligibility for leave and benefits. Develop and update personnel forms.Develop budgets and monitor expenditures for personnel services.Prepare and submit to the Cabinet Members an annual report of personnel salary information, including step and rank placement as defined by the state salary schedule. Also, provide periodic cost data as well.Complete and submit required personnel reports to college administration, the Alabama Community College System, and other state and federal agencies. Respond to employment inquiries by phone and written correspondence.Verify personnel employment information to requesting organizations with written authorization by employee.Create and distribute position announcements.Post all Human Resource information on college web page.Verify educational credentials and employment history.Verify references of applicants; receive and verify past employment and other credentials; obtain written credentials of selected candidates. Notify applicants of the status of their application for employment.Ensure employment process and forms are in compliance with the state and federal requirements. Coordinate and schedule new employee orientation programs; provide employment packets and provide new employees the directions and means to download web-based Personnel Handbooks. Disseminate to all employees’ revisions of policies and procedures as adopted by the President's Cabinet and/or the Alabama Community College System that are pertinent to the College Personnel Handbook. Ensure that job descriptions are updated and approved annually. Maintain copies of all job descriptions in the Personnel Services Office. Distribute and collect annual performance evaluations on employees assuring compliance with policies/procedures; provide evaluation instruments, job descriptions, professional development forms, and other necessary information to supervisors; provide assistance to supervisors as needed.Attend seminars and workshops to maintain current knowledge of personnel laws and requirements. As needed, assist in the training of other personnel in the use of applications within the Personnel software modules. Monitor employment status of employees (i.e. temporary, probationary, leave of absences, FMLA, etc.). Keep updated on the Banner software changes related to Personnel Services. Serve as liaison to Banner Data Systems computer programmers for the development and service of Personnel software. Monitor and maintain documentation regarding the automated personnel systems. Coordinate the annual revision of the Personnel Handbook.Ensure all new, terminated, and resigned employees are updated through the Insurance Placement Portal (PEEHIP). Supervise the development of planning statements to support the Strategic Planning Process of the College Personnel services. Serve as Title IX Compliance Officer for Employees.Chair or serve upon all College committees as appointed.Serve as College-wide ADA Coordinator for Employees.Participate on State-wide Committees as assigned by the President of Bevill State or Chancellor for Alabama Community College System. Serve as the Senior Personnel Officer (SPO) for purposes of the Students First Act. Assume all other duties assigned by the VP of Administration and Operations or President.
