Summary:

Overall, the Group Account Director is a senior-level position that requires strong leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to manage complex client relationships. 

The Role:

  • Lead a large integrated, multifaceted account, with campaigns for multiple high-profile brands, overseeing the account team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior clients.
  • Ensure that all work is strategically and creatively on target.
  • Ability to craft and recognize good creative strategies that deliver on a marketing need.
  • Maintain account profitability.
  • Be the business expert by identifying and securing key growth opportunities across multiple and complex workstreams. This may involve an in-depth view of client organizations to gain a deeper understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Drive transformational business growth for the client and agency. This will involve developing and implementing strategies to achieve client business goals, as well as working closely with internal teams to ensure that all work is aligned with client objectives.
  • Provide senior leadership, guidance, and mentorship to assigned account and cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with other client agencies, as needed, and as part of an interagency team.
  • Provide support to the executive committee related to agency, team, and management policies and practices.
  • Work on relevant new business, when appropriate.
 

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or similar field.
  • 10 years of experience in account management or equivalent experience.
  • Solid experience managing strategy and campaign creative development.
  • Solid experience working with creative and project management teams to produce campaign assets (video, social, display, etc.).
  • Solid experience working with media teams to develop and execute digital media plans.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to author presentation decks.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
 

Nice to Have:

  • Financial services category experience.
  • Proficient at problem-solving and at brainstorming solutions.
  • Flexibility in adapting to new tasks and shifting priorities.
    • Experience with multiple marketing channels.
    • Experience in performance marketing.
    • Be the inspirational brand leader to account and cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to provide strategic stewardship to all assigned accounts.
