Accounting Associate Job Description

Overview

Position Title: Accounting Associate

Department: Administration

Position Summary: As an Accounting Associate at Absolute Distribution Inc. (ADI), you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing our day-to-day accounting functions. Reporting to the President, you’ll handle invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger tasks, and payroll.

Work Location: 2125 Broadway Street NE Minneapolis, MN 55413

Base Salary: $24 /Hour (based on experience)

Work Hours: Monday – Friday; 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (subject to change based on company needs)

Key Responsibilities and Skills

Responsibilities:

  • Manage invoicing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Maintain the general ledger and process payroll.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Preferred Human Resources or administrative experience.
  • Preferred experience with customer service.
  • Preferred college degree from an accredited institution in accounting or a related major or related professional area.
  • Computer skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn.

  • Satisfactory attendance per ADI Associate Guidebook.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounts receivable and accounts payable (credit inquiries, collections, and check processing).
  • Perform credit card and bank reconciliation.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll.
  • Handle employee commissions.
  • Prepare end-of-month reports.
  • Complete daily invoicing.
  • Administer human resources tasks, including benefits, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance management, talent development, and new hire onboarding.
  • Contribute to other duties and projects as assigned.

Mission Support Job Duties:

As an Accounting Associate, you’ll be accountable for accurate financial records, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and credit collections. Your role contributes to ADI’s mission and success.

Additional Information

Continuous Improvement Plan:

  • All ADI Associates contribute to documenting and resolving system problems.
  • As an Accounting Associate, you’ll enhance project participation, planning, communication, and implementation in the following areas:
  • Accounting and HR Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Analyze areas of weakness, suggest improvements, and maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Productivity Enhancement: Improve accounting and HR procedures.

Education and Training:

  • ADI provides resources and support for education and training.
  • Associates are responsible for seeking approval, scheduling, and participating in relevant training.

Organizational Structure:

  • Reporting: Directly to the President.
  • Interaction: Routinely interacts with all ADI associates.
  • Project Participation: Contributes to improvement projects.
  • Information Sharing: Shares relevant information as needed.

  • Building Products: Our partners and customers require a diverse range of high-quality building products delivered promptly. These products serve various purposes, from resale to installation or as components for their own projects.

  • Product Installation, Use, Maintenance, and Warranty

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
