Job Title: District Manager

Job Location: Houston, TX

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership: Lead a diverse team of facilities personnel, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork. Duties include, but are not limited to.
  2. Janitorial Oversight: Manage and oversee janitorial staff and operations, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across the portfolio.
  3. Tag work sales and Oversight: Supervise pressure washing operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and effective cleaning of facilities.
  4. Conflict Resolution: Address and resolve conflicts within the team or with external stakeholders in a professional and effective manner.
  5. Profit & Loss (P&L) Knowledge: Manage the site’s budget and financial operations, including P&L responsibility, cost control, and financial reporting.
  6. Client Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with all current and potential stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and addressing any concerns promptly.
  7. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for MND Houston, aligning with MTX objectives and ABM’s standards.
  8. Safety Management: Enforce strict safety protocols, conduct regular safety trainings, and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Additional Responsibiilties:

  1. Ensure company standards are met in compliance with the operations and servicing contractual obligations to customers within specified budget of labor and expense.
  2. Assists in preparation of billing amount and invoice backup requirements according to Sarbanes-Oxley Accounting specifications.
  3. Ensure associates provide proper supply levels to all accounts within provided supply expense budget.
  4. Reviews daily labor for assigned District.
  5. Assumes responsibility for properly educating supervisors on payroll procedures.
  6. Responsible for adhering to and enforcing established company policy and making sure assigned associates do likewise.
  7. Contact customers to ensure services meet service contract requirements and ensure customer retention.
  8. Work consistently toward securing sales.
  9. Understand and use proper personnel management skills to resolve problems with employee and supervisory personnel.
  10. Carry out both positive recognition and disciplinary action as needed. Train associates as needed.
  11. Maintain business in line with branch financial goals by managing job budgets and costs associated to area of direct responsibility. Assumes responsibility for supervisor vacation and holiday replacement coverage.
  12. Assists in Safety programs follow-through by Branch Safety Coordinators to ensure compliance with all safety policies. Ensure that company policy and all safety requirements are administered properly. Ensure both you and your Supervisors investigate immediately (24 hours) and thoroughly all work-related accidents.
  13. Responsible for reporting of accidents involving personnel, vehicles, public liability, property damage and fidelity claims. Assists in reviewing workers compensation claims relevant to area of responsibility to ensure proper handling.
  14. Knowledge of city, state and federal laws and regulations that affect company business and knowledge of required operational licenses to operate the business.
  15. Assists in branch supply systems /order supplies.
  16. Assists Branch Manager in equipment audits and purchasing.
  17. Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in janitorial services, pressure washing, and landscaping management.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of P&L management and financial reporting.
  • Proven track record in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Strategic planning capabilities with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety management and compliance with OSHA standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Certifications in facilities management, safety, or related areas are advantageous.
