Ability Matters is Hiring an Assistant Director of Education Operations and Quality Assurance Near Dublin, OH

The Assistant Director will play a critical role in overseeing the intake process, developingindividual education programs for students, and implementing training programs in the fieldwith a focus on quality assurance. This position requires a strong educational background,leadership skills, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and excellencein our education programs.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the intake process for new students, including assessment of needs,development of individual education programs (IEPs), and coordination of services.
  • Collaborate with educational staff, therapists, and other professionals to developcomprehensive plans for students with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement training programs for educational staff and support personnel,ensuring adherence to best practices, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and audits of education programs and services to assesseffectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with regulatorystandards.
  • Provide guidance and support to educational staff in implementing IEPs, utilizingevidence-based practices, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to student progress, program outcomes, and qualityindicators, using this information to inform decision-making and program improvementefforts.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including families, school districts, andregulatory agencies, to ensure alignment of services and compliance with legal andregulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to education operations staff, including performanceevaluation, professional development, and coaching.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, trends, and developments in specialeducation, and incorporate these into program planning and implementation.
  • Balance fieldwork and office responsibilities, spending 2.5 days per week in the field and2.5 days per week in the office, to ensure effective oversight of program operations andquality assurance efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in special education, with experience in programdevelopment, implementation, and quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate and developa team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including students, families,staff, and external partners.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to balance fieldwork and office responsibilities effectively.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and advocacy for individuals withdisabilities.

Physical Requirements:

Duties performed typically in school settings to include: classrooms and recreational areas.Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, equipment and/or material may berequired. Other physical activities may be required.

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking within the community and other schoolactivities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to assist students who have physical difficulties.
  • Must be able to kneel, sit, stand, crawl, push, and pull to assist and teach studentsthroughout the day.

Environmental Conditions:
