Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will provide support to the Controller and will assume most of the general accounting duties for the Company.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Daily bank reconciliationsDaily Positions ReportImporting billing and collection data into QuickBooksMonitoring AR Cash Collections Reconciliation done by the Accounts Payable AssociateWeekly review of inventory for negative quantitiesBi-weekly payroll entryMonthly PTO and payroll accrualsMonthly overhead allocation entryAccount AnalysisPreparation of adjusting journal entriesMonthly close checklist attendanceAssistance with auditsOther duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:
Proficient with QuickBooks (desktop), and MS Office productsFamiliar with payroll entriesStrong organizational skillsMust be self-directed and able to work independently, while also working well with othersHigh attention to detailStrong written and verbal communications skillsConscientiousness - Displays an elevated level of effort and commitment towards performing work and demonstrates responsible behavior.Organization - highly detail oriented, organized, and able to prioritize time management.Interpersonal skills - Shows courtesy, tact, empathy, cooperation, concern, and politeness to others and relates well to different people.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in accounting5 or more years accounting experience - fire safety service or other similar industry experience a plusExperience with inventory management, costing and valuation and cost of goods soldPhysical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
