A&K has sales offices and a network of storage and distribution facilities strategically located throughout the United States. JOB SUMMARY:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a key role in maintaining accurate customer details for our customer accounts. The role will be responsible for initiating contact with customers to help ensure overdue payments are paid on accounts and reducing past due and bad debt exposure. The role will also be responsible for managing the accounts to ensure customers are charged correct sales tax per exemptions and manage our sales tax filings with a third-party service and help us complete those not covered under the third party. The Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week to receive guidance and feedback.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Post payments to customer accounts and research all deductions, over payments, and related adjustments.
• Collections on customer accounts.
• Complete credit references.
• Cash sales review & reportng and credit card processing & reporting. 
• Assist with customer tax exemption entry & issues.
• Monitor / manage sales tax reporting processed by third party provider.
• Document dates on Contractor Reference Sheets for Lien Notices.
• Run credit reports & maintain customer files.
• Assist with Approving orders.
• Reconciliation of international billings.
• Test report identification and assignment to rail cars.
• Pick up mail occasionally & assist with phone coverage.
• Special projects as assigned.

Requirements

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE):

• At least 2 years of collections experience.
• At least 2 years of sales tax experience.
• Experience working with Microsoft 365 products e.g. Excel (Intermediate), Word, Outlook.
• Experience with accounting software. Dynamics 365 a plus.
• Some Accounts Payable experience preferred.

• Moderate-to-expert knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word.
