Description

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, monitoring, and supervising the direction of multiple construction projects. Maintaining close contact with management and owners, monitors construction, ensures proper project completion, as well as managing the bidding process while reviewing, sourcing, and preparing budget estimates during the preconstruction phase of each project. The construction estimator draws up, estimates, and determines the overall cost of a new or existing commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and directs all phases of commercial construction project(s) within with the ability to multi-task and oversee multiple projects at the same time.
• Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, construction drawings, specifications, and related documents.
• Ability to read/comprehend project drawings with detailed analysis.
• Calculate forecast and budget.
• Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements.
• Prepare contracts & negotiate change orders as needed.
• Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
• Resolve project issues and disputes in a timely fashion.
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Develop subcontractor relations and maintain subcontractor database.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of site construction (8 - 10 years)
• Must have 5 years experience in estimating site construction.
• Bachelor’s in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a construction estimator position.
• Strong analytic abilities
• Collection of construction field data on buildings through measuring, and production of detailed notes acceptable for costing and audit purposes
• Accurately calculate project costs for construction projects
• Building and mechanical knowledge
• Meet client deadlines.
• Travel two-three days a week 30 times a year
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, associates, vendors, contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Is a self-motivator who always maintains a positive attitude and is approachable.
• Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
• Extreme attention to detail and accuracy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
