Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Support Specialist to provide assistance and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and possess the necessary skills to support individuals in need.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and guidance to the clients that relates to 95% community integration program
- Actively participate in volunteer and fun community activities, such as church events, food pantry visits, bowling outings, and zoo trips in different cities.
- Participate in company events on some weekends, such as provider fairs, by distributing flyer and informing the community about the program.
- Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor for daily interactions with our valued clients.
- Provide support to the clients or participants in employment support and vocational services, promoting independence and skill development.
- Willingness to undergo training to serve as a life coach / mentor to program participants.
- Proficiency in using computers for setting up ISP, documenting services, and scheduling activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher education in the relevant field'
- Valid driver's license required.
- Clean driving record with less than 6 points and ability to drive a 6-8 passenger vehicle.
- Ability to lift and transfer individuals when needed
- Friendly and outgoing personality for daily interactions.6. Proficiency in computer skills.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or in hospice care is preferred
The Direct Support Specialist contributes to the overall success of the Day Habilitation Center and positively impacts the lives of program participants. Join our team and make a difference in the lives of our clients and their families!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
