Job purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Paralegal to join our legal team at 26Health. As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal operations. You will work closely with our General Counsel and other staff members to ensure compliance with regulations, handle legal documentation, and provide assistance in various legal proceedings.
Duties and responsibilities
- Document Preparation: Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including contracts, agreements, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Manage case files and maintain organized documentation, ensuring all deadlines and requirements are met.
- Conduct training sessions for staff members on legal topics relevant to healthcare operations and compliance.
- Conduct thorough research on healthcare laws, regulations, and policies to support legal proceedings and compliance efforts.
- Read and proofread documents, and draft response letters for employees
- Work in tandem with the 26Health People and Culture Team
- Highly motivated, independent worker who can be self-sufficient.
- Legal Support: Providing general support to attorneys, such as attending meetings, preparing agendas, and managing correspondence.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professional behavior, and presentation
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- An associate degree is required, while a bachelor's degree and paralegal certification are preferred.
- 3-5 Years of Paralegal experience
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Ability to work in a complex team environment and collaborate with external as well as internal professionals and other customers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; communication style that is open and fosters trust, credibility, and understanding.
- Proficient in all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be highly organized, able to focus on multiple priorities, and multi-task while maintaining operational efficiencies.
- Experience working in a healthcare organization is highly preferable.
Working conditions
- Prolonged periods standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. Work may be required in various environments as needed by project/activity.

- May require the occasional ability to lift to 25 pounds.
