Job purpose

The role of the Strategic Planner is to lead the charge of our company’s direction by creating plans to achieve our 26Health’s business objectives. The incumbent will play a crucial role in maintaining our competitive edge and effectively allocating resources. Strategic thinking is a vital skill required for this position, along with strong analytical and organizational abilities. Contributions will be instrumental in guiding our company through changes, fostering growth, and ensuring long-term success. As a Strategic Planner, this incumbent will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our company’s strategic decisions and drive our business forward.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develop Strategic Plans: Lead the development of comprehensive strategic plans aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and goals, taking into account market dynamics and healthcare trends.
  • Conduct Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis, including competitor analysis, market trends, and patient demographics, to identify growth opportunities and potential threats.
  • Identify Growth Opportunities: Identify and evaluate potential growth opportunities, such as expansion into new service lines, geographic areas, or partnerships, through data-driven analysis and strategic assessment.
  • Risk Management: Assess risks associated with strategic initiatives and develop mitigation plans to minimize potential negative impacts on the organization’s performance and reputation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, and frontline staff, to gather input, build consensus, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and effectiveness of strategic initiatives, and regularly report on performance to leadership.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including cost-benefit analysis and financial modeling, to evaluate the financial feasibility and implications of strategic initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to continuously refine and improve the organization’s strategic planning processes and ensure adaptability to evolving healthcare landscapes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or related field required. MSc/MA/MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in strategic planning, preferably in the healthcare industry.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Must be highly organized, able to focus with multiple priorities, and the ability to multi-task while maintaining operational efficiencies.
  • Experience working in a healthcare organization is highly preferable.

Working conditions

  • Prolonged periods standing, walking, and/or sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required. Work may be required in various environments as needed by project/activity.
